Frequently Asked Questions

 

How do we qualify for the 2009 Diamond National Championship?
For the 2009 Season, Your team must be registered with USFA and can qualify in any of the the following ways:

  1. Place Top 5 at the USFA State Tournament or Regional Qualifier
  2. Place in the Top 2 at a USFA NIT
  3. Win a USFA State Qualifier
  4. Place in the Top 5 in the State Tournament other than USFA
  5. Be recommended for an At-Large Berth by your State Director or Regional VP

Projected Qualifications for 2010:
1. Place in the Top 5 at the USFA State Tournament or Regional Qualifier
2. Place in the Top 2 at a USFA NIT
3. Receive a berth at a Diamond National Qualifier
4. No USFA in my area - Receive an At-Large Berth by submitting a resume or accomplishment to the USFA Regional VP. 


Do we need to have a berth prior to registering for this event?
Teams planning to attend should register now to ensure their spot. We do require teams to meet the qualification criteria, however because we are only accepting 40 Teams in each age group (16U & 18U) it is important that you register early to secure your spot.

How do we register with USFA and enter the event? 
To register with USFA: Go to www.usfastpitch.com and fill out the Team Registration. Once you have done this, you will receive a USER ID & Password that will allow you to register  for the event.

What is the format for this event?  
This is a 5 Game Format (3 pool games, followed by double elimination) .

Will there be a separate bracket for 16U & 18U?
Yes, there will be two different brackets, however both will pitch at the 43' pitching distance and both are allowed to wear metal cleats.

What pitching distance will be used?
Both 16U & 18U will pitch at the 43'

Are metal cleats allowed?
Metal cleats are allowed for all players (16U & 18U) .

Are we required to attend Coaches Meeting / Opening Ceremonies? 
Attendance at the Opening Ceremonies is optional, however it is strongly encouraged you have at least one representative at the coaches meeting to check-in, receive tournament details & bracket schedule.
